SUMMARY OF THE RAMADHAN TAFSEER

The Qur'anic exegesis of today Thursday addressed and explained 2 verses of Chapter 3 of the Noble Qur'an. They are Verse 52, thereafter, Verse  53 was also interpreted and explained.

The session explained that Isa (Jesus) as a Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him invited his people to Allah's religion through following the Injeel (Gospel) revealed to him. Some of the children of Israel accepted and believed in his message, while some rejected and plotted against him. He announced among his people looking for volunteers to help him in delivering the revelation revealed to him for the guidance and salvation of his people. Al-Hawariyyun sacrificed themselves to partake in the assignment.

The Noble Qur'an (Verses 52 and 53 of Chapter 3) says:

52) Then when Isa (Jesus) came to know of their disbelief, he said: "Who will be my helpers in Allah's Cause?" Al-Hawariun (the disciples) said: "We are the helpers of Allah; we believe in Allah, and bear witness that we are Muslims (meaning: we submit to Allah)."

53) Our Lord! We believe in what You have sent down, and we follow the Messenger (Jesus); so write us down among those who bear witness (to the truth).

Some important lessons of the verses:

1) Some children of Israel, rejected Prophet Isa (PBUH). Similar happened to all the Prophets that came before him, and indeed to Prophet Muhammad  who came after him.

2) Isa (Jesus) asked for helpers to assist in conveying the divine message to his people. Prophets May Peace and blessings of Allah be upon them, need help.

3) Al-Hawariyyun offered to be with Isa for Allah's sake.

4) Al-Hawariyyun believed in Allah. So believing in Allah and obeying his Prophets are the prerequisite towards helping His  religion.

5) The Word Hawariyyun was mentioned 5 times in the Glorious Qur'an. (Once in each of Al-imran 52; Maidah, Verse 111 and Verse 112, and twice in Suratu Saffi, Verse 14).

The Tafseer session was attended by Shaykh Imam Dr Khalid Aliyu Abubakar, Secretary of the Jamaatu Nasril Islam (JNI) and brother Abu-Jaabir. Shaykh Khalid presented a short reminder after the session, before closing.

May the Almighty Allah make us among the beneficiaries of Jannatul Firdaus.
